Resumen

Durante mucho tiempo, las emociones carecieron de interés para los historiadores. Sin embargo, desde principios del siglo XXI, la emoción se transformó en una categoría analítica y en un objeto de investigación autónomo. La indagación de esta temática dio lugar a la configuración de un campo floreciente en rápida expansión. Este artículo tiene un doble propósito. Por un lado, delinea el recorrido a lo largo del cual cobró forma la historia de las emociones, a partir de una perspectiva transdisciplinaria y de un diálogo teórico y metodológico con las ciencias sociales y las humanidades, así como con las ciencias biomédicas y las neurociencias. Y por otro, presenta los debates actuales y esboza algunas de las direcciones futuras del campo.
