In this work we propose to investigate the background of the creation of School Nº 38 located at the Base Esperanza Antártida Argentina, as part of the transformations that took place in the province of Tierra del Fuego, AIAS and especially since its provincialization. The research was based on documentary analysis, recovering national and provincial regulations, and conducting interviews with key interlocutors who participated in its creation. The school becomes relevant for different reasons: for the province
constitutes a means of territorial integration, due to the lack of its own infrastructure to access the Antarctic continent; for the nation it means an advance in the geopolitical strategy; and for the role that the school plays in the Antarctic community as a means of social integration. Among the results, we identify some features, typical of an era and a way of "the political", appreciating a diversity of interests and a plurality of voices within its agents that add complexity and enrich the analysis, and current debates.
