Abstract

Educational Practice III – Biology Didactics, taught during the fourth year of the Biology Teacher Education Program at the National University of La Pampa, emphasizes teacher education from a political perspective, promoting educational decisions based on equity and aimed at improving quality of life.
This course seeks to prepare future teachers who are capable of responding to the demands of a democratic and critical school system. Student teachers carry out teaching practice in secondary schools, where they observe classes and design teaching sequences that address contextualized issues from the perspectives of Comprehensive Sexuality Education, Comprehensive Environmental Education, and Human Rights.
These teaching practices aim to promote scientific literacy, enabling both future teachers and secondary students to use scientific knowledge when making decisions about relevant real-life issues. The course values the integration between the university and schools, fostering the connection between theory and practice in teacher education. Student teachers record their observations in field notes, relate them to theoretical foundations, and design teaching sequences based on curricular content and motivating problems, using resources and methodologies adapted to each educational context.
